Auction House Letters with The Skylarks and Former Sinners Of The Future
@ Wild Heaven Garden Club
Auction House Letters play songs about overcrowded ghost towns in the keys of C, G, D, A, E, F, and Bb. One part twangy roots rock and one part noisy guitar-driven indie rock, the current lineup includes Jeff Holt on guitar and vocals, Chris Poma on bass, Michael Goldman on lap steel/slide guitar/mandolin, Johnny McConnell on guitar, and Wayne Pelletier on drums. They call Atlanta home.
The Skylarks are purveyors of “majestic guitar pop” formed by guitarist Michael Hunter and drummer Megan Sexton. They have played shows from Tallahassee to Nashville and shared stages with the likes of Cracker, Alex Chilton and the Bottle Rockets. They are joined by bassist Jim Johnson (from Atlanta’s country-rock legends The Vidalias) and guitarist David Minchew who played with power-pop sensations The Windbreakers and The Primitons and currently also plays in Atlanta’s Lemonmnm. “Paula Pandora,” the debut single from their forthcoming record “Bar Talk Symphony” was first played by legendary L.A. DJ Rodney Bingenheimer on his SiriusXM radio show.
Former Sinners of the Future have been a band for about 4 years. Steve & Katie had been goofing around as the Chumblers since 2011 and while driving home from her parents' house one Thanksgiving suddenly decided we needed to form a garage band. We tried to do that. We looked up "garage band" on Wikipedia. We listened to what the algorithms told us was garage band music. We came up with a list of garage band song titles and we wrote some of those songs. But somehow we completely failed to become a garage band. We don't even know what we did wrong. The lineup is:
Katie Butler - Keys and vocals
Steve Seachrist - Guitar and vocals
Jeremy Ray - Bass
Jay Howell - Drums
Mitchell Hardage - Guitar
We just finished mastering a full-length studio album and we intend to get it out on vinyl this summer.
